Mid Century lounge chair
 
Another fabulous find by the Rare Chair Company, this is the iconic armchair named "Bratislava" as it was originally produced for the airport in Bratislava city. Designed by Ludvik Volak, this armchair was produced by Drevopodnik Holesov in the 1960s.
 
The base of the armchair is made of bent wood laminate, a new material at the time produced by pressing together wooden veneer pieces. This allowed the designer to create amazing shapes. The seat of the armchair is upholstered in a black faux leather with square stitching.
 
The chair is a true original, which has been cleaned, waxed and polished, so has an aged patina. A rare find and we have a matching pair currently in stock.
